Rumors of the Samsung Galaxy S22 have already occurred several times, but I’ve heard relatively little about its rival, the Xiaomi Mi 12, which is likely to be released at the same time. But what do you expect from that expected premium device from some early information?
Chinese news site MyDrivers shares some renderings of Mi 12. These are fan-made photos, but they are the expected successor to the Xiaomi Mi 11 because they are based on the actual leaks that swirl around the social media platform Weibo.
The photo shows a phone that shares a well-designed bone with the Mi 11 and Mi 11 Ultra, including a curved screen, and the display is clearly similar to the Mi 11 series. The camera bumps show an extra snapper than the Mi 11 phone had, much like that of the Mi 11 Pro, which was only released in China.
I had to look at the photos for quite some time before I noticed the biggest change from Mi 11. This is a feature rumored to come with certain phones, but so far only the ZTE Axon 205G actually comes with it. Under display camera.
Under Display Camera Contest
The under-display front camera is exactly that sound. It’s a selfie bream, and you don’t have to cut out and store part of the screen (so you won’t get ugly circular marks or “crevices”.-Drop’segments, missing from the display).
I’ve heard that quite a few phones, like the Samsung Galaxy Note 21 and Galaxy Z Fold 3, come with an under-display camera, but the former could be completely canceled and the second could be a fairly niche device. There is a phone (because it is foldable).
One rumor suggests that the Galaxy S22 Ultra may have this feature (although this has been disputed). However, if the camera is under the display of the Xiaomi Mi 12, Xiaomi’s flagship series could be launched in December 2021 or January 2022, probably prior to Samsung’s February 2022 launch. Therefore, it may be better than the Galaxy S22 series.
Even if that happens, it’s not the first time Xiaomi has swooped in to prevent Samsung’s Galaxy S series from winning the “first to do X” title. For example, everyone was surprised that Xiaomi shifted its launch to December 2020 instead of February 2021, making the Mi 11 the first phone to beat the Galaxy S21 with the Snapdragon 888 chipset.
At this time, it’s not really known whether either smartphone series will have a cell phone with an under-display camera. In any case, neither will use this feature first. But like some of the biggest phones in 2022, phones are likely to be very competitive in many sectors, so there is no doubt that they will compete in a myriad of other ways. Listen in detail about both and we’ll bring you all the reputable leaks and rumors.
