The OnePlus Nord is getting a new update as we speak, and the company focused on battery improvements this time around. This update is being released as OxygenOS to the phone.

Battery improvements are in the focus of a new OnePlus Nord 2 update

In the changelog, the company lists “extended battery life”. That’s not the only battery-related entry, as in the second one, OnePlus says that it reduced power consumption in specific scenarios.

On top of that, the company also fixed the issue of delayed notifications that some users had issues with. The last entry also brings an important fix, as OnePlus fixed the overheating issue in certain scenarios.

Now, do note that OnePlus also boosted security with this update, as it comes with June 2021 Android security patch. It’s not a July patch that many Samsung devices are now receiving, but it’s an improvement still.

You’ll need to have at least 30-percent of battery charge in order to install this update. Also, make sure you’re connected on WiFi if you don’t want the update to drain your monthly supply of an internet data package.

The OnePlus Nord has been one of the most praised OnePlus devices in recent history. OnePlus really did manage to produce a quality smartphone that is good all around. On top of that, it’s quite affordable, for what it offers.

The OnePlus Nord 2 is right around the corner

The OnePlus Nord 2 is right around the corner, but as we wait for it to arrive, OnePlus decided to add some extra polish to the original handset. The phone did perform really well ever since it launched, but OnePlus has been consistently patching up smaller problems with it, and improving its performance.

Its successor, the OnePlus Nord 2, is expected to bring a number of improvements. It’s also expected to become the company’s first-ever phone to ship with a MediaTek SoC. OnePlus already confirmed that the Dimensity 1200 will come included inside the Nord 2.
