I wish this will not be only some sporadic thing like Windows mobile.
In the end depends on the developers.

If the number grows large enough (say a few million apps) then they can decide whether they will ditch Android app support or not. After all, the backward compatibility exists in order to keep the entire transition process as smooth as possible.
Is anything known about this: how does the move to HarmonyOS affect the time span for which a device is supported? Would consumers get the promise that their devices will be supported much longer than with Android?

It may work in China, with state control of apps and systems, but not anywhere else. The major app and game producers won’t write for a whole new system, why would they?

This “deep dive” report simply doesn’t contradict with Huawei’s claims.
klv12gcn, 14 hours agoFor now, it’s just Android rebrand.

kek, 12 hours agoOk wumao. Tell me then how do you change an OS base code in just 4 months? Your comment seems to be based on an assumption that the base code of the HarmonyOS is the same as Android, which is your responsibility to prove it before asking such a question. “The UI looks like Android and it runs Android apps” doesn’t count since another OS running Android subsystem would be able to do exactly the same.
Also, in case you missed: GSMArena’s posting rule specifically says “Be polite and use common sense” 🙂 Read properly, thank you.
anything non google is good.
fed up with their tracking 😨
Nick Tegrataker, 13 hours agoThe article is 4 months old and any information presented there is already outdated.Ok wumao. Tell me then how do you change an OS base code in just 4 months?
This is supporting to p30 pro aura
How can i get it for my Huawei MatePad T8 (2020) ?
I wanna get rid of Google as soon as possible.
The main issue here is whether USA gonna ban harmony OS too…
If they do, how will it affect the market?
It will be bad for both consumer and developer.
SMIRNAS, 16 hours agosoo,, HarmonyOS is entirely new system (??)As much as I understand, it uses AOSP for Android compatibility but has different microkernel (still based on Linux, though).
Will be nice to transform my S21 Ultra to Harmony… Hate Sammy OS.
Soo, 15 hours agoNot really..because of developersYou and I don’t know what will happen now, now when they really release Harmony and when other brands will connect to harmony to… Developers will follow for sure.
