If 12 mini was a replacement for SE, then I wouldn’t definitely buy. But not at that current asking price.

I want small phones, of course many want small phones. But this stupidest battery na na. It looks like apples wanted to fail mini concept

They should put good battery on mini. I hated big phones. I would go for it if it has better battery, doesn’t mind thickness

Anonymous, 16 Jul 2021Android phones can last for years without updates. Better than IOS updates which slow down you… moreWhile true I would never keep my phone that long.

Also android updates can be buggy too (old Motorola trauma comes back, but also the Samsung one)

Anyhow the moment my android phone doesn’t get at least security updates I am done with it, I want a secure phone especially because in my country my bank requires an app (not just for payment but for overall usage all of them do that here) and so does my insurance and government sites for stuff like taxes and so on.

It would be stupid to use a phone without updates (doesn’t matter if Android or iPhone or maybe even ancient windows phone) with apps like that.

So no I would NEVER recommend anybody to use a phone that doesn’t get at least quarterly security updates.

P.S and before someone reads my comment again, I use android for private use and iPhone because of my work (work phone I never paid for, not my problem my job requires it)

I don’t blame Apple for failing, the “irony” I meant is that EVEN Apple failed on that regard.

And that is not Apple their fault, and if other companies would try the same small phone concept then probably it wouldn’t be their fault either.

The market is the problem, Apple is big and even they failed and that is because the market complains they want smaller phones, but in the end people get all the cheapo big China phones.

Meanwhile people like me complain about wanting a small phone, but would actually buy one when available, sadly I am the minority.

So again my comment was not to bash Apple.

blue.sun, 16 Jul 2021Any real numbers to back your statement?Yes sure, here we go 🙂 iPhone 12 Series Captures One-third of Smartphone Industry Revenues in Q1 2021: https://www.counterpointresearch.com/best-selling-models-q1-2021/ the 12 Mini did better than most Android flagships, on not a single android flagship could match 12 Pro Max in revenue or premium sales. 🙂

And yet again salty Anons are making it like it’s specifically Apple’s failure. Literally every vendor that tried making mini phones was a failure to some extent. Just because people are loud in polls it doesn’t mean that represents the large majority. Sony had limited sales of their Mini models, Samsung had limited sales of their Mini models and behold, Apple also has limited sales of Mini model. Everyone is obsessed with larger and larger displays. It’s just how it is.

SizN80, 16 Jul 2021This is it exactly, android is still a fragmented and mangled mess hence most android flagships… moreI can’t even think Android phone before they give as long updates as Apple, it’s just underestimating their potential users, they only give you poor support because they have to sell you new phone, unlike Apple who have their ecosystem so it’s win win situation for Apple.

Android companies have to sell you new device so they screw their users over and over again and like the sales shows people are waking up.

[deleted post]If Apple would have iPhone in 250$ price point they would steal huge amount of Android sales. Apple alone is selling over 60% of over 400$ phones, that’s just huge. What you think would happen if Apple make 250$ phone, but they don’t need to do as they already own the market they want and they are widening it every year.

23274

[deleted post]” Anybody can go into Apple store and buy iPhone for 350$.”

Funny part, most Android sales are coming from 220$ 350$ is whole lot more, so.. and where most Android sales comes, there isn’t even Apple stores available 😉

Apple seems content with perpetuating a stigma towards smaller phones simply by failing to use a higher capacity battery.

[deleted post]First of all, I never blamed anyone and secondly, Apple sells what, some 90 million iPhones every year? Pretending there will never be any issues is just stupid assumption.
